Social Anxiety and Imagery

So, how can Imagery help with Social Anxiety? Using imagery is a great way to immerse yourself in feelings of peace and relaxation. Imagery is a form of distraction, allowing you to turn off any negative thoughts or feelings you may be having, as a result of your social anxiety. Imagery is also a way for the mind to tell the body what to do... relax.

A peaceful scene can be anything you like. A beach at sunrise, a quiet lake, a stream in the mountains, or anything that makes you smile and relaxed.

Images can also help with areas you feel you need to improve. Social anxiety can be related to low self-esteem, poor communication skills, and other skills that may need improving.

Surround yourself with pictures. Whether at home, at work, or in the car. Place pictures that represent confidence, social skills, or anything that makes you feel more powerful. Set up a vision board somewhere you can look at it often. Imagine yourself in those pictures, and you will be on your way to recovery.
