Pets and Social Anxiety

For anyone suffering from social anxiety, you know all too well about the fear of rejection. That is why pets are great! They miss us when we are gone, they love us unconditionally, and they forgive our mistakes.

I posted previously that I had to put my Sasha down a couple of weeks before Christmas, and although it feels like yesterday, and some days are still hard to get through without tears, I have a new baby that I just had to show off.

Her name is Bandit, and she is a little spitfire! At the time of this picture, she was only 3 pounds, but acts like she is 10 feet tall...

She keeps me extremely busy, which is good. But, she gives me more than that. When I am hurt, she knows. At only 10 weeks old, she is smart as a whip. She tries my patience, but makes me laugh at the same time.

I'd like you to meet my Bandit...
Until next time...

Merry Christmas - can it be more stressful?

I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year. I apologize for not posting if you happen to be following, which from some of the email I have received, I know you are.

I haven't been able to post since I had major surgery, with many complications. I just couldn't sit at the computer long enough.

I promised everyone that sent me an email, I would post again, but since that time, I have had to put my dog down. She has been my best friend for 15 years. Not only did I have to make the decision alone, (and I held her through the whole ordeal) I then came home and got a phone call 6 hours later from my husband who gave me so much guilt that I wondered if I did the right thing. Well, I know I did.

Lately, I have had "so called friends" telling me to keep my problems to myself. And some who continue to say they "love me" when it is so obvious they only love me if I can do something for them, or help them in some way.... or keep me on a string.

Well, if any of this is happening to you at this time of year, I say screw them all. Be polite and respectful, because you don't need to stoop to their level. But don't allow yourself to be a rug to these people. That's what I do.

So, for all of you reading this... Have a Very, Merry Christmas and a Happy, and Safe New Year!

And much love to my Sasha..

Until next time....
